Convent and Stuart Hall students wrapped up the 2026 Homecoming season with a “Great Gatsby”-themed dance this weekend, bringing the week’s festivities to a close. Students dressed up, danced with friends and watched a high-energy performance from the dance team. At homecoming sports games, students, families, faculty and alumni came together and celebrated by showing lots of school spirit. 

“It was really fun being able to spend time with my friends,” junior Sophie Dessle said. “This was a great way to end the Hoco season,” 

This year’s homecoming dance took place this past Saturday. Students went all out, as this year’s Hoco theme was “Great Gatsby.” Students socialized with friends and took photos and videos to capture the night. “The homecoming game this year was super fun, especially getting to spend time with friends,” junior Evelyn Reid said. “The dance team put together a great performance for this year’s Hoco dance!” 

The dance team was one of the highlights of the night, performing a routine to Zara Larsson’s “Midnight Sun.” Students gathered together to watch their classmates perform, cheering them on as they broke out into a high-energy number. The performance added another part of the night for students to enjoy beyond the music, dancing and photo booth, which created a very lively environment and really energized everyone for the rest of the night. 

“The Homecoming game was a blast!” chair of community spiritual Life Paul Pryor Lorentz said. “I remember a time when we didn’t have homecoming, so it’s a joy to have a K-12 celebration to look forward to every year.”

Beyond just the Homecoming dance, many students showed up, full of spirit, participating in spirit days and attending all of the games and other homecoming activities. Homecoming week gave students the opportunity to get out of their comfort zones, participate in beloved school traditions and bring everyone closer together. Many families with students of all ages came to support our football team, along with many faculty and alumni coming to support the Knights. Despite the defeat, the game still added to the excitement of the season and brought together our community. 

 “I loved seeing all our school spirit during homecoming week,” Dessle said. “This was overall a fun season!”
