Members of the Convent and Stuart Hall community attended the annual Winter Formal taking place in the Flood Mansion Friday night.

Students of all grades were invited in to dance from 7-10 p.m., after paying $25 at the door, or $20 to Devin DeMartini, Director of Student Activities, for tickets bought ahead of time.

“A lot of people were dancing, which was good because it usually takes a lot of effort to get people to dance,” student body president Amandah Mah said. “It’s good that everyone was having fun.”

Themed ‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’, senior student council members aimed to provide the best experience for the Formal’s attendants.

The event incorporated modern music, winter-inspired decorations, food and refreshments, with teacher Paul Lorentz as the DJ.

“The decorations were really nice and the music was great,” freshman Jillian Hernandez said. “I felt very comfortable and the atmosphere was very friendly.”

Lack of student attendance has occurred with various dances throughout the year, but Winter Formal ran successfully for the duration of the night according to DeMartini.

“We had a really great showing of students from every grade,” DeMartini said. “People showed up when it started, and stayed until it ended.”
