The badminton team wrapped up its season with three victories, with freshman Casey Stuart proceeding to the Bay Area Conference [BAC] Championship at Lick Wilmerding High School and City College of San Francisco.
Mixed doubles took place at Lick Wilmerding while the singles matches were held at City College.
“I was nervous and very excited,” said Stuart, who plays mixed doubles with sophomore Felix Sudderth. “I felt like I could actually win and get somewhere even though I was playing against other teams I never played before.”
Stuart and Sudderth won their first and second match, but lost their third and came close to winning the fourth, according to coach Luther Cuffy.
The team defeated Drew School 4-1 both times it played the team and beat the Athenian School 3-2.
“It’s fun to watch them get better,” said Cuffy. “They have the desire to win, compete and improve.”
