This week, students are encouraged to participate in spirit week, which involves different dress themes for each day of the week, such as Fourth of July and Anything but a Backpack. There is also a day for full dress uniform as students have Mass of the Holy Spirit. Today, students arrived at school in pajama outfits, according to sophomore Mallory Parent.
“I really liked spirit day today because we were all in our most comfortable clothing,” Parent said. “It’s a nice break from polos and jeans,”
In addition to the start of spirit week, there is Homecoming on Friday and Saturday. There will be a girls’ volleyball game Friday evening and a boys’ football game Saturday evening, according to Head of School Rachel Simpson.
“I think the biggest difference is that we’re excited to bring back is the evening football game,” Simpson said. “ I think in recent years we’ve been able to have an afternoon into the evening game but I think this year we’ll have an Under The Lights game in the evening,”
The dance will take place after the girls volleyball game in the Merlone Little Family Theater. Just as it has in the past, the dance will have music, food, dancing, and games, according to Simpson.
Homecoming week is an opportunity for the Convent and Stuart Hall community to relax and have fun. All twelve grades will be together to cheer on the two teams, according to freshman Keira Patel.
“I’m excited for homecoming and I can’t wait to see the volleyball game,” said Patel, “Go Cubs!”
Students will also dress up in school spirit on Friday, which is the homecoming volleyball game. Students should dress up in red clothing on Friday, while blue is the color theme for Saturday’s football game, according to Parent.
“I liked how the student council was able to organize both red and blue shirts to purchase for homecoming,” Parent said. “I’m excited to see everyone dressed up in spirit for the games.”
