The Parents Associated hosted another successful Christmas on Broadway this weekend. Christmas on Broadway is a Convent tradition which includes shopping, gingerbread house making, and a cocktail event for parents.

The event is an excuse to shop for gifts from local businesses and spread the holiday spirit with friends and family, according to freshman Piper Leffert.

“Christmas on Broadway is one of my favorite traditions we have,” Leffert said. “It’s a great way to get into the holiday spirit and celebrate with the school community,”

Many vendors are pre-selected to set up stands and sell their goods in the Main Hall at Broadway. The stands were set up from 10a.m – 3p.m. on Saturday.

The gingerbread house workshop is another family favorite, according to freshman Lily Liao.

“The gingerbread house workshop was my favorite when I was little,” Liao said. “I loved it because there was so much candy and it was fun to decorate for Christmas,”

There are so many traditions within the school community which emphasize togetherness and becoming excited for the holidays, according to Leffert. These traditions allow members of the community to feel at home within the school.

“I love all of the traditions we have,” Leffert said. “It builds community and makes the season a bit more festive.”
