To enter the 7th week of school, and celebrate the week of Homecoming, Convent and Stuart Hall students will show up to school and sports games excited and full of spirit to support their classmates and friends. After a celestial Homecoming dance on Saturday, Sep. 27, today marks the beginning of a week full of themed dress days, activities and sports games.
“I am so excited for my first spirit week!” freshman Annie Jeong said. “I’m looking forward to attending the volleyball and football games and dressing up for all the various themes,”
Thanks to the creative student council, the student body has an exciting agenda of themed dress days lined up for this week, but also some important Homecoming games for the fall sports teams. From field hockey to football, there are so many games to choose from to attend and cheer on the Cubs and Knights.
“This is my 4th Homecoming week at Convent and Stuart Hall,” senior Julia McKinnon said. “The themes are a great way to spice up my everyday outfits and connect the entire high school community.”
The themed dress days and Homecoming sports are, indeed, a fun way to build community with classmates because the whole school will match in spirited dress. Showing up proud and prepared to cheer one’s heart out will only increase the probability of winning and having fun.
“I’m excited for the Homecoming game- Homecoming is fun because there’s so much school spirit, you’re in your home court, have the home advantage, and all the people you know are cheering you on,” volleyball coach Ellery Jones said. “It makes the win and the fight that much more fun, so I’m super excited.”
Because elementary school students take notice and are inspired by the outfits, students are reccomended to take an extra five minutes to spice up their outfits to fit the theme. In addition, this week is an opportunity to get excited about what this coming year brings; a variety of new and old traditions, firsts and lasts, and looks into the future – college and beyond.
Jeong said, “The themes of this year’s dress days are very creative,” Jeong said. “ I can’t wait to see what will come next this year – it’s off to a great start!”
