Next week Convent and Stuart Hall will be packed with fun, exciting events starting with a Homecoming full of stars. The student council has curated an exhilarating week full of spirit theme enjoyment. To start the week off strong, Homecoming will be held on Saturday, Sep. 27 in the Little Theater on the Broadway campus. The theme for this event is a starry night, so students are encouraged to dress in glittery or blue colored clothing to show off their style.
“I’m excited to dress up and to match with my friends for spirit week,” freshman Makayla Leung said. “I also can’t wait to take photos of everyone’s creative and unique outfits,”
On Monday will be Sports/Jersey Day. Students are allowed to deck out in sports themed clothing such as Warriors jerseys and Giants caps. Tuesday will be Class Color Day where each grade will dress up in their selected color of clothing. Freshman will be wearing white, sophomores blue, juniors red and seniors black.
“I’m ready for spirit week, especially Monday,” biology teacher Allison Lovejoy said. “I’ll come wearing my Jason Kelce Eagles jersey, go Birds!”
Wednesday will be a day of relaxation in the sun. Students are encouraged to dress in their best Hawaiian themed outfit and sway along with the ukulele. On Thursday, students will participate in “anything but a backpack” day. Students may be seen bringing trash cans, plastic bags and other unconventional items to carry their school supplies.
“I’m excited for spirit week,” junior Miranda Oerth said. “I’m really excited to dress for school spirit however I want to on Friday.”
Lastly, Friday will be the final day of spirit week, in which students will dress in their Cub, Knight, or Lion pride to show some spirit. Spirit days help the community by making it stronger. Participating in the themed days creates a shared experience between grades, throughout the school.
“At Homecoming, I’m looking forward to experiencing it with a new community,” Leung said. “It will also be my first high school dance.”
