During the last weeks of summer, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park hosted its annual Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival. This three-day event, often referred to as OSL, encompasses a diverse range of music, art, food, and wine. First started in 2008, the 80-acre festival serves as a reflection of San Francisco’s culture and spirit.
“My favorite artists were Tyler, the Creator, Gracie Abrams, and Wallows,” junior Kate Jones said. “All of whom performed on Saturday, which was very exciting.”
To kick off the first day of the Outside Lands (OSL) music festival, many artists sang and performed. A couple of these artists were John Summit, Doja Cat, and many more. Both Summit and Doja Cat were first-time OSL performers and certainly left their mark, according to Outside Lands. People traveled from around the country to see these artists, and OSL was definitely worth the wait.
“Outside Lands Day 1 was so much fun,” sophomore Caroline Koch said. “Especially seeing John Summit up close with my friends,”
Day 2 of OSL featured many talented artists, including headliners Tyler, the Creator and Gracie Abrams. Both of these artists are Grammy-nominated and have won a Grammy. Other headliners include Ludicrous, Vampire Weekend, and more.
“I am all for music,” math professor Nasser Fathi said. “And I believe that this festival for promoting and allowing people to enjoy music is a very good thing,”
Day 3 of OSL 2025 concluded, featuring a diverse array of music from electronic artists to indie performers. The headliners of the final day were Irish singer-songwriter Hozier and Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, and producer FINNEAS. At 10 p.m. on Aug. 10, festivalgoers wrapped up Golden Gate Park’s music-packed weekend, according to Outside Lands.
“One of the best parts of Outside Lands, aside from the performances, is the food vendors,” Jones said. “This year, my favorite food there was a smash burger.”
