On Sunday night, the San Francisco 49ers played against their rival team the Dallas Cowboys. They won 30-24. By winning this game it extends their lead in the all time series and enters their “Bye” week on a high note. A “Bye” week is when a team gets a selected week off of their season.
Sophomore safety, Ji’Ayir Brown, started off strong by making the first turnover of the game. As this was a team effort from both Brown and defensive lineman Nick Bosa, the 49ers were able to take the position back to Brock Purdy, according to 49ers.
“I think it really boosts the morale of all the 49ers fans because I am loyal to the bay,” sophomore Xochitl Garcia said. “This weekend, while I was out I saw a lot of 49ers fans out in the city and it seemed like everyone was excited,”
Rookie Issac Guerendo made his first touchdown of the season at this game giving the Niners the 13-10 advantage in the third quarter. During the next offensive series, Kittle caught a two yard pass from Purdy, leading the team to a 20-10 advantage, according to 49ers.
“I knew that after halftime when Kittle had the run and scored the touchdown that we were going to win,” sophomore Arria Shimizu said, “This game was a good pick-me-up, especially after losing to the Chiefs the week before,”
Purdy made record numbers during Sunday night’s game. He completed 18 of 26 pass attempts, a touchdown and a 114.3 passer rating. He closed out the game as the Niners second leading rusher and punched in scores on quarterback sneaks in back-to-back games, according to 49ers.
The Niners are 4-4 with their wins and losses so far this season. Though it is still early in the season the team has high odds of making it into the Super Bowl this season, according to Ninerswire.
“I think that the 49ers are a great representation of the sports teams in the Bay Area,” Garcia said. “This is especially true due to the fact that Oakland lost the A’s, the Raiders to Las Vegas and the Golden State Warriors to San Francisco.”
