Students unpacked their book bags for the first time this year before walking down to Syufy Theater to fill their seats around 8:30 a.m. this morning.
“I’m in a great mood,” said Julia Papale. “We’re seniors, we have power, we have influence, and we’re in blue.”
Each member of the faculty welcomed students and shared ideas about this year’s theme of vision with quirky skits, poems and quotes from Harry Potter.
“What we see depends on who we are,” said art teacher Rachel McIntire as she handed a pair of binoculars to members of the fine and performing arts faculty who each in turn shared their vision for the year.
Teachers encouraged students to see the world differently, become storytellers and learn to express themselves.
“’You come as you are and are cared for with great love,’” said Head of School Andrea Shurley as she read from Saint Madeleine Sophie’s “Life at the Sacred Heart” as she welcomed the community.
