Piano music floated through the Main Hall this afternoon as guests lined up to greet the Class of 2010 during the annual Senior Tea.
Fifty-two seniors dressed in white, tea-length gowns and holding small bouquets of red roses and white orchids stood along the Belvedere for almost two hours shaking hands and making small talk as guests filed through.
“Senior Tea is very emotional to see because they’re all leaving so soon,” said junior Sophie De Lancie. “All the seniors just look so beautiful. Honestly, I love the tradition and I can’t wait until it’s my turn.”
Faculty and guests nibbled on petit fours and tea sandwiches, while sipping coffee and tea served from silver urns in the Reception Room.
Senior Tea marks the beginning of traditions including Ring Ceremony, Baccalaureate Mass and Prize Day, leading up to graduation on June 4.
